Allyson (Ally) Smith was names Georgia Tech Athletic Hospitality Assistant Manager in August 2022.

Allyson started with Georgia Tech Athletic Hospitality in 2021 as a game-day FANgineerTM before transitioning to be an intern amidst the 2021-22 basketball season. Her primary responsibilities include managing all dame-day FANgineersTM, providing assistance with hospitality management for all premium seating areas in Bobby Dodd Stadium, McCamish Pavilion, and Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium, developing and maintaining the Georgia Tech Athletic Hospitality brand image.

Allyson began playing sports at the age of four and continued to cheer competitively and compete in track and field throughout high school. Since a freshman she was also a member of Epsilon Alpha Xinos & Kudos, a high school sorority/fraternity program. They would volunteer at the Rutgers University football stadium. Those memories and feelings later pushed her to apply to be a FANgineerTM at Georgia Tech. Post-high school, sports took a backseat to Allyson’s life so she could focus on school, friends, and fun. She never truly fell in love with athletics, athletics have simply always been a part of her life.

Prior to Georgia Tech, Allyson was interning with the tv and film production companies of Food & Lifestyle TV and Culture & Culinary in the pursuit of a media-based career. She was then studying Film and Media Production with a minor in Hospitality Administration at Georgia State University. Allyson has since graduated in May of 2022. Allyson hopes to still work on tv and film-based productions outside of Georgia Tech to feed her love for being behind-the-scenes.

Born and raised in Somerset, NJ, Allyson has been able to combine her love for media and sports by leading projects that allow her creative freedom and impact.

Christina Whitehead was named Georgia Tech Athletic Hospitality Intern in December 2022.

Christina’s primary duties include managing the department’s social media, FANgineerTM recruitment and gameday management, and overseeing the FANgineerTM Incentive Program. Christina also supports the Hospitality Manager and Assistant Manager with gameday preparation and execution of premium experiences within McCamish Pavilion and Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium.

Christina grew up watching sports but was never an athlete. Her father played football in college, so she heard countless stories about his athletic experiences, watched sports on TV, and attended athletic games. After college, her father continued his athletic lifestyle as a runner. It wasn’t until Christina was in high school that she began to run with him. Over time, the two trained together and now Christina is a dedicated runner with the goal of running a half marathon one day.

In high school, her initial passion for hospitality flourished as she was on the executive board and an active competitor in the hospitality and tourism category for her school’s business club chapter. At Georgia Tech, Christina is involved as a Resident Assistant and Tour Guide, where she has further developed her interest in the hospitality field. She is a third-year business administration major with a concentration in marketing and a minor in psychology at Georgia Institute of Technology. Christina plans to graduate from Georgia Tech in the Spring 2024 and possibly obtain her master’s degree from Georgia Tech.

Born in Miami, FL, Christina hopes to be a light for all sports fans and positively represent Georgia Tech in all she does.
